Five kilometers further on from Laem Mae Phim on the beach road (Highway No. 3145) is the Sunthorn Phu Monumentl. The place was built to commemorate one of Thailand’s most famous poets in the early Rattanakosin era, two centuries ago.
Sunthon Phu, a Rayong native, had written his literary works as Phra Aphai Mani being his most well-known work. There are statues of Sunthon Phu and characters from his famous literature.
