The island resort of Phuket is hosting Halal Food Hilal Town Fair to highlight the island’s readiness in catering to the special dietary needs of visitors who observe halal and raise awareness of Phuket as a travel and tourism destination for visitors residing in the neighbouring countries of ASEAN as well as countries in the Middle East, particularly during the ‘green season’. “Moken Reflections (1894-2007)” is a travelling exhibition (Burma-Thailand-France-Switzerland) of photos, objects and children’s drawings recounting the history of Moken nomads, the marine nomads of the Mergui archipelago, from 1894 to today.
Conceived by Jacques Ivanoff and Akram Mohamed, this exhibition highlights the culture of the Moken ethnic and lets us discover the little-known cultural and natural heritage of South Burma and Thailand. It is an original way to spread public awareness on the issue of trans-border populations.

Born in 1972, Ambroise Tezenas is a French photographer who graduated from the Vevey Institut des beaux-arts, in Switzerland. He has to his credit a number of exhibitions and publications, in particular, a book published in 2006 by Actes Sud, “Pekin, Theatre du Peuple” (2Beijing – People’s theatre”). Since 2002, he has been devoting his time mostly to the creation of a personal work on urban landscapes.
