One of Thailand’s most naturally scenic areas, this province is home to a number of hilltribe communities.
Poi Sang Long, the ordination of novices, is a religious ceremony of the Thai Yai tribal peoples. A spectacular and colourful procession displaying the offerings for the monks is paraded through the town.

The Poi Sang Long ceremony in Mae Hong Son is a Buddhist novice ordination ceremony, but it is unlike any other ceremony of its type in the country.
